Mile Train: Music
I'd Rather Feel Bad
(Mile Train)
July 15, 2007
David Pippin
I wrote this in a dark time were I was unable to get any kind of break. All the bands I had been in broke up or just out right failed. But I was still happy to be alive and playing music, no matter how hard times get.
I’d Rather Feel Bad
By David Pippin
I’d rather feel bad than nothing at all
Something to feel alive something I can call
Living my life as stable as a flood
Not swimming with the flow, stuck in the mud
Hitting these strings, trying to pay the bills
Broken knuckles, a temper and no backup skills
I get easy advice all the time
They say I should move a little on farther down the line
Chorus:
I’d rather feel bad than nothing at all
Something to feel alive something I can call
Living my life as stable as a flood
Not swimming with the flow, stuck in the mud
It’s hard to save a penny when you don’t drink cheap
Thinking my life is some great feat
I’ll spend my last days looking for a home
Just some place where I can rest my bones
Chorus
No regrets, no not a tear
It’s just that the short straw looked a lot bigger from here
Don’t stop me now I’m on a roll
This time next year I’ll be deep in a hole
Chorus
